Easy ways to show your home some love this February

It’s February, the month of love, and in addition to showing love to the people in your life, you should also give your home a little extra attention. Especially this past year, as most of us have been stuck inside, showing your house a little love is something that will make it look a little different, help clear some of the winter, and quarantine fog that may be clouding your noggin too. Here are a few things you can do to help give your home that hug it may need.

Declutter your space

One of the breakout shows for Netflix last year was Marie Condo showing people how to live more minimalistic. While you don’t have to go to her extremes, doing some clutter removal is always a good thing, especially if you are engaged in the top pandemic pastime of impulse Amazon buying. Consider donating some of the items you no longer need to families who have been hit hard by the pandemic and you’ll have the added benefit of knowing you’ve helped your community.

Make Each Room Yours

Have you lived in your home for years but still have that one room you really haven’t done anything with? Something you always had plans for but never got around to? Take the time this February to finally tackle that project and use your vision and style to make your space your own. Whether it is hanging new curtains, changing the lighting fixture, or decorating an empty wall, you’ll be glad you did it.

Go Analog

With the quarantine and staying at home, now is the perfect time to beautify your home with some purely non digital things. If you’ve been stuck on endless zoom meetings, binge-watching streaming shows, and scrolling social media in an attempt to stay in touch with the outside world, bringing in some things like plants to take care of, arranging some pictures, or even just creating a little reading nook will not only make your home a little more yours, but also help you disconnect and rejuvenate.
